Draft laws concerning the Lithuanian Orthodox Church

Official statements and appeals of our Church in one place.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Two draft laws concerning the Lithuanian Orthodox Church have been submitted to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. In the assessment of the Church Council, they would make it possible to take several historic churches from it, among them the Monastery of the Holy Spirit and the Cathedral of the Theotokos in Vilnius, and would prepare the ground for removing the Lithuanian Orthodox Church from Lithuania's traditional religious communities.

So that you receive reliable information first-hand, the Church's official publications are listed below. Please rely above all on official sources: the website orthodoxy.lt and the Facebook page of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church. The publications are available in Russian and Lithuanian.

Official publications

  1. Extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church

Prayer

With the blessing of Metropolitan Innokenty of Vilnius and Lithuania, molebens and akathists to the Mother of God are served every week in all parishes and monasteries of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church. We invite everyone to pray more fervently, in church and at home, for the peace of the Church and for Lithuania, its people and its authorities. Please call the parish for the time of the moleben in our church.
